At Blue Sky Animal Hospital, we offer CryoLab® Vet cryosurgery as a gentle, minimally invasive option for treating selected skin growths and other superficial lesions in pets. Using precise nitrous oxide cryotherapy, CryoLab® Vet freezes targeted tissue while helping preserve surrounding healthy tissue. In many appropriate cases, this means treatment without traditional surgery, without sutures, and often without general anesthesia.
CryoLab® Vet can be a great option for certain warts, skin tags, cysts, eyelid growths, angiomas, tail tumors, and other small or localized lesions. It may also be used in select cases involving distichiasis and certain perianal or anal gland lesions, depending on your pet’s specific condition and the doctor’s exam findings.

My parents went to Dr. Johnson and Blue Sky over 30 years ago before I was even born. They bred and raised German shorthair pointers and he helped with everything from check ups to pregnancy. Later in life when we had to put our childhood dog to sleep, he came to our home to do it. Fast forward to now and I take all 3 of my cats there and I would never go anywhere else. Dr. Johnson is knowledgeable and down to earth. He’s great with animals and helpful with pet ownership. I’ve seen several other veterinarians there too without any issues. I’ve also gone to other clinics in the area before in a pinch and regret it. The experience was nothing like Blue Sky. The rest of the staff are also very kind and make you feel welcome. Life at Blue Sky Benefits and When CryoLab® Vet May Be Recommended

For many pets, cryosurgery offers real advantages: shorter appointments, less tissue trauma, minimal bleeding, no suture removal, and a recovery process that is often simpler than traditional surgical excision. Because it can avoid general anesthesia in many cases, it may be especially helpful for senior pets or pets with medical concerns that make more invasive procedures less ideal.
At Blue Sky, every growth is evaluated individually. Not every lump or bump should be frozen, and some masses still require biopsy, surgical removal, or a different treatment plan. Our doctors will examine the lesion, discuss the best option for your pet, and explain what to expect during healing.
