At Blue Sky Animal Hospital, our Wisonic ultrasound system helps us evaluate many conditions quickly, safely, and without the discomfort of more invasive procedures. Ultrasound is one of the most valuable diagnostic tools in veterinary medicine because it allows us to see soft tissue structures in real time, helping us assess what is happening inside the body with greater detail than an exam alone. Ultrasound is especially useful for examining the abdominal organs, including the liver, spleen, kidneys, bladder, and portions of the gastrointestinal tract. It can help identify changes such as inflammation, fluid accumulation, certain masses, organ enlargement, and other abnormalities that may not be visible on standard X-rays. It is also an important tool for evaluating pregnancy, monitoring fetal development, and assessing viability during gestation.
Ultrasound Advanced Imaging and Precision Diagnostics
In veterinary medicine, ultrasound also plays an important role in evaluating the heart and, in selected cases, the eyes, muscles, tendons, and joints. Because ultrasound produces real-time images, it can help veterinarians assess motion, fluid, tissue texture, and other findings that support faster and more informed decision-making. It can also be used to help guide the safe collection of cells or tissue samples for further diagnostics. Friendly, caring staff and amazing veterinarians!
My parents went to Dr. Johnson and Blue Sky over 30 years ago before I was even born. They bred and raised German shorthair pointers and he helped with everything from check ups to pregnancy. Later in life when we had to put our childhood dog to sleep, he came to our home to do it. Fast forward to now and I take all 3 of my cats there and I would never go anywhere else. Dr. Johnson is knowledgeable and down to earth. He’s great with animals and helpful with pet ownership. I’ve seen several other veterinarians there too without any issues. I’ve also gone to other clinics in the area before in a pinch and regret it. The experience was nothing like Blue Sky. The rest of the staff are also very kind and make you feel welcome. The clinic has that perfect small town vibe and they treat you like family instead of just another person who they’re making money off of. I’ve recommended Blue Sky to sooooo many people.
